A Double Burial from Shahr-I Sokhta Necropolis (Iran). Bioarcheological Investigations and Non-Invasive Biotechnological Studies on Fragments of Human Remains

The archaeological site of Shahr-i Sokhta, in the Sistan region south-eastern Iran, is noted for exceptional preservation human remains documented its necropolis. This report describes results a non-destructive multidisciplinary investigation into double burial excavated at preserving two skeletons subadults. first part this study provides an archaeotanatological and bioarchaeological description burial. Next, we detail biotechnological techniques applied to bone fragments pertaining femurs buried children. Following process studying these samples, employ micromolecular technique based on morphological observation using optical, scanning transmission electron microscopy. molecular analysis proves presence organic compounds such as tubulin. Through investigations, demonstrate that it possible, utilizing only few grams sample, obtain useful details scientific research interdisciplinary investigations.
